What the card is designed to do

When it launches, the Kronos crypto card is designed around the things the category gets wrong. The goals:

These are design goals for an unreleased product, not current features. Final terms, fees, availability, and supported assets will be confirmed at launch.

The tax question — spend crypto without selling

The phrase "spend crypto without selling" is popular for a reason, but it deserves an honest footnote. In the US, spending crypto is generally a taxable event — disposing of an asset can trigger a capital gain or loss, the same as selling it. A card doesn't change tax law.

What does reduce the friction is spending stablecoins. Because USDC is designed to stay at $1, there's typically little or no gain or loss to report when you spend it — you're moving dollars, not realizing appreciation on Bitcoin. That's why the Kronos card is built stablecoin-first. Either way, Kronos's record-keeping is designed to make conversions easy to track for tax time, and the tax suite already handles the 1099 side. Common questions

When does the crypto card launch?

We're not announcing a date yet. The waitlist is how you'll hear first — joining it also helps us prioritize rollout. Card issuing is a regulated build, and we'd rather ship it right than rush a claim.

Will the card have cashback?

Rewards are part of the design conversation but not confirmed. We'll publish exact terms at launch rather than promise a number now.

Can I spend crypto through Apple Pay in the meantime?

The point-of-sale spend experience arrives with the card. Today, crypto on Kronos is for buying, selling, converting, holding, and sending. Apple Pay support details →

Is my crypto FDIC-insured?

No — crypto is non-custodial and never FDIC-insured at any provider. FDIC covers USD bank deposits, which at Kronos are held via partner banks with pass-through coverage.

How is this different from Crypto.com or Kast?

The intended edge is 0% fees, a non-custodial wallet, and integration with banking and 1099 tax tools in one app. Since the card isn't live, treat these as design goals — Download Now and we'll share exact terms at launch.
