Wells Fargo fees in 2026 — the full list

Wells Fargo has trimmed a few fees in recent years, but the core ones — a monthly service fee, $35 overdrafts up to three a day, wires and ATMs — are still very much there. Here's the plain-English breakdown and what $0 looks like instead.

The monthly service fee, by account

Wells Fargo's everyday account, Everyday Checking, carries a $10 monthly service fee. You avoid it by meeting one of these each fee period:

The rest of the lineup: Clear Access Banking is $5/month (waived for owners 13–24), Prime Checking is $25/month, and Premier Checking is $35/month — each with higher balance-based waivers. On Everyday Checking, missing the waiver costs $120 a year.

Overdraft: $35, up to three times a day

Wells Fargo charges $35 per overdraft item, capped at three per business day — so a worst-case day is $105. To its credit, Wells Fargo has dropped NSF (returned-item) fees entirely and added two cushions:

Useful, but they don't change the underlying number: on a low balance with no incoming deposit, you can still rack up $105 in a day.

Wires, ATMs, and the quieter costs

How to avoid Wells Fargo fees

Common questions

Did Wells Fargo really get rid of some fees?

Yes — it eliminated NSF returned-item fees and added Overdraft Rewind and the Extra Day Grace Period. The $35 overdraft fee and the monthly service fees remain.

Is the $10 monthly fee waivable for everyone?

Only if you meet a waiver condition each period. A $500 monthly direct deposit is the most common path; younger account holders (17–24 as primary owner) are also exempt on Everyday Checking.

Can a low balance still cost me a lot in a day?

Yes — up to three $35 overdraft items, or $105, on a single business day if nothing covers the shortfall in time.

Does Kronos charge any of these?

No monthly fee and no overdraft fee on the free plan. Pro ($9.99/mo) adds 2.5% APY and 0% crypto fees. Full breakdown.
